DAVID A. EDLUND, DMD

At Hampden Dental Care, we believe that responsible dentistry means keeping smiles as healthy as possible. That’s why we provide regular dental exams and cleanings to all our patients. In addition to excellent home care, these visits help you maintain a high level of oral health and prevent common issues like tooth decay.

Dr. David Edlund typically recommends coming in every six months for your routine checkup, although he may suggest more frequent cleanings if needed. During this visit, our hygiene team will remove any plaque or tartar that has built up. These substances form over time and are primary causes of tooth decay. We will also floss and polish your teeth, and carefully check for any signs of potential issues. When caught early, conditions such as gum disease or tooth decay are more easily treated, with less-involved treatments often sufficing.

In order to more thoroughly examine every aspect of your smile, we use digital X-rays to check internal tooth structures. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than normal X-rays. Images are also available instantly, and we don’t need to use any chemicals to process or develop images.

Based on the results of your checkup, we will provide recommendations for improving your home care, including brushing and flossing techniques and types of toothpaste or other products. Your personal oral hygiene routine is the most important part of promoting oral wellness, so we want to make sure we give you as many tools as possible.

If it’s time for your regular dental checkup, we invite you to call our office at 303-586-4034 to schedule your dental cleaning and exam in Lakewood, Colorado. We are anxious to care for your smile!
